That is going on with this 1936-S and 1935-D Buffalo Nickel mint mark, is it a OMM, RPM?

what is going on, it almost looks like a S over horizontal S or D? What do you think?

Here is the 1935-D, I see it is a D/D, but what is going on up north?

  • It appears to be one of the repunched mint marks of this date and mint. I don't have my Cherrypicker's Guide with me at the moment.
