OT: If you haven't told your wife or girlfriend how much you

appreciate everything she does, do it now! As my friends here know, we have four children ranging from 2-10 years old. All of them, including my wife, Tonya came down with some sort of bug last Wednesday. Tonya actually didn't get really ill till Friday. All of them had/have minor fevers, throwing up and the other bathrooom related thing you usually would take the pink stuff for. I'll won't say it image Everyone is still sick but seem to be getting better as their symptoms are slowing.

Anyway, the appreciating your wife part: For some reason, I didn't get sick at all. I credit it to the healthy work I do and the herbal supplements I take. Of course, I'm not sure, but it sounds good to me. Being self employed is a good thing! I have been able to stay home the last few days to do what I can. That said, I have been doing the Mr Mom thing. Dishes, cleaning up, cleaning up puke lol, and just general things my wife does. It really requires alot of time and focus especially with sick kids all over the place image

We are blessed due to the fact that our business does well enough that Tonya can be a stay at home mom . She runs a good ship here and I just didn't appreciate it enough seeing how hard she works. Not because I was being rude or mean of couse. When I get home after work, the house and kids are already taken care of for the day so it's kinda is hard to see the actual work that was done.

So, if you don't do it already, help your wife out with some chores she usually tackles. She will really appreciate it. Tell her how much you appreciate her and what she means to you. You'll be glad you did. Even though Tonya is still pretty darn sick, she still takes the time to thank me for helping. I thought that was really great.

Okay, I'm done being a woman now image

xoxo

I eloped on Friday, so I'm just settling in to the married thing. I didn't think it would feel different because my wife and I have lived together for almost a year, but I actually feel like we've futhered our bond...whatever that means <cough, cough...tough exterior>.

I'm glad to have her and glad to take care of her.

    nice post....

...some advice about the bug...drink lots of water to keep the mucus membranes lubricated and help get that crap virus passed through the system as soon as possible....not other liquids...just water is best...and add vitamin supplements to the diet...perhaps a bit more vitamins than usual.

again...nice post about our women who we sometimes do tend to underappreciate at times, and of course if we underappreciate them often, we could windup getting served divorce papers.

I am doing my wife a favor by leaving town with my son for 8 days for the National! She took a vacation too and I am sure the house is being re-arranged. Just as long as she doesn't touch my office it's all good!

You actually made me feel guilty for a few moments! image

Seriously, I feel the same way about my wonderful wife and all she does for our home. And know how much I take her for granted at times.

Matt , hope the family get better soon. I'm surprized , with the type of work I do , and the many people I come in contact with , that I don't bring more things home. You're probably right about being outside (lots of sun) plus the suppliments , aiding your health.

If what you learned this week is still with you next week or next month and beyond, you will be the wiser and hopefully the happier man.

Mom is the hardest job in the world, no doubt. Nice post (especially since your wife reads this forum!).

Matt, are you looking at a very expensive Emmitt piece to purchase? imageimage

Seriously, nice thread. Sometimes we take our loved ones for granted and a wake up call is a good thing.

Please start sharing your Flintstone supplements with the rest of your family so they do not get sick too.

    And congrats BunchOBull!!!!

Great post, Matt, and good timing too! I was thinking about starting an OT post about the fact that Barb and I celebrate 20 years together tomorrow. She's a terrific blessing to me. I often feel that I don't deserve her, but in spite of my many flaws, she chooses to love me anyway.

    Ross, congrats on your marriage!
