A very coppery, lustery gold eagle.
Guess the grade. Try to guess what holder it is in as well.
I seem to have used lighting that emphasizes every little hit. I was trying to show the luster.

You better hope gecko doesn't see it, he's overly harsh when it comes to $10 Libs.

Yeah, I caught a little glare on the reverse shot and was too lazy to reshoot.
Slab brand and grade if you can, please...
Pretty golds.

I was not satisfied with the first pictures I posted.
I re-took pictures of the 1889 by looking through the lens with a lamp in each hand. Then I positioned the two lamps where it seemed best. This coin is extremely sensitive to where I put the light; if I just put them to the side like usual, much of the coin looks very dark.
It is a very nice large rimless medal.
I even tried making a stereopair for those of you with red-green glasses:

<< <i>regarding the 72S quarter eagle, what's that nearly perfect circle between stars 9 and 10? >>
Since I do not see a matching issue on the reverse, I don't think it is a hole patch.
I think it is a beauty mark. All ugly coins need a beauty mark.
Always a danger on this forum. Post a few pictures of recent purchases. Then wait for the "look at the cr@ppy dre¢k you just bought" comments. At least I am happy in my ignorance.
The spot on the quarter eagle appears to be a drop of glue.
Sometimes, "new purchase" threads do not go so well.

If you look at the full resolution Heritage images...
Yes, the blob is there, but it's not nearly as noticeable as in my photographs. I missed it entirely; I guess I need to learn to look closer at Heritage photos!
