Pete Rose - HOF 2010? What happens to his card values?

Hank on Pete Rose
Reports out of Cooperstown suggest that Selig may reinstate Rose, which means he will be HOF eligible.
If the Hit King does get in will his cards see a spike in value? I can see demand for his RC go crazy if this happens.

I don't see much of a boost in his autograph value, as he has MILLIONS of items out there.

He was a great ball player , that ended up using the game we love , for his own benefit . I know all the other things that many of the other HOFers did, but Pete's actions cut to the core of the value of the game.
Read the Dowd report , yourself . Pete never denied what was in the report. He is unrepentent . He is still the same selfish creature he alway was.
If he gets into the HOF , then so be it. If his card values rise, so be it.
He's still Pete Rose , with all the deeds that show what he was.
P.S.---- He was and will always be a better baseball player , than most of us other mere humans will ever dream of. I liked him as a player , but I did not like as a person.
This smells like something cooked up by the Commissioner's office to help deflect the attention from Selig's complicity in allowing the steroid saga to grow into the monster it became...
But that's just me talking stupid.

Each time I visit the Baseball HOF, it seems so ironic that there are tons of displays, photos, memorabilia, and records of this baseball phenom everywhere you look; everything but a plaque!
This is the guy that taught the baseball world to hustle; to play with pride; to slide head first; to challenge every pitcher to throw his best pitch; to play each and every game like it was game 7 of the World Series!
I'm well aware of the sign that is posted in every MLB dugout, but it needs a long overdue overhaul/update if you will.
Pete's record of 4256 hits will NEVER be broken .... nor will Nolan Ryan's 7 No-Hitters/12 1-Hitters/5714 Career Strikeouts .... or Rickey Henderson's 1406 Career Stolen Bases .... or Cal Ripken Jr's 2632 continuous Games Played .... etc. etc.
After hearing Aaron's comments, coupled with the backing of Mike Schmidt and the endless efforts of Joe Morgan and a few other HOFers, I'd say Pete should be entering the Hall in the very near future.
Here's a partial list of players who are eligible for consideration for the Hall of Fame by the baseball writers in coming years:

What "player", on any of the lists above, based soley on their accomplishments, deserves to be in the Hall more than Pete?
It will be a great day for MLB and for Pete!
I'm neither a Reds fan, nor a Phillies fan .... and not really a Pete Rose fan per se; but I do believe he deserves to be in the Hall.
I don't collect Rose cards, but I would BET strongly that his rookie would increase nicely should he be considered.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Time and a little steroid scandal heals all wounds. As a player, which is how he would be inducted, he represented the game like a Hall of Famer.
Rose would be smart to stay out of Vegas for a few months until this actually happens.
I listened to a couple of senior MLB writers on the radio yesterday and they both said Pete Rose will get less than 50% of the vote from the Veterans committee which will not get Pete in the HOF. I heard another MLB Writer that said Pete Rose, Mcgwire, Bonds, and Clemens type players should have a plaque in the HOF that states their records/stats, but it should also state what they did.....Like Pete Rose's plaque would say "banned from MLB for 20 years due to betting on baseball". That way the fans could see their plaque and make their own judgement in regards to what the players did to tarnish their careers.

more evidence against rose than Jackson...
the man admitted he bet on baseball LIFETIME BAN FOR ROSE end of story
<< <i>Poppa ... Very good post ... I am in agreement with you that Pete Rose belongs in the Hall. But when you listed the others that are eligible (STEROIDS notwithstanding and I do NOT want to debate the steroid factor) in the near future I wondered if there was EVER a year where there were so many great players eligible.

Agreed. Although I do believe that Rose should be in the HOF eventually.
