New to PSA...need advice

Was thinking of joining the Collector's Club to take advantage of the July special. I was wondering if there is anything I should know or do beforehand. I understand that USPS registered mail is the preferred method of shipping, correct? Do you typically insure cards for their raw value? For example, I have an 84T Marino and 86OPC Patrick Roy, whose raw value is less than $100 (according to eBay), but if they were to get 9s or 10s, they'd be worth significantly more - should I insure for the full $100? And, do you do the same for return shipping? Sorry for all the questions, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome, insure them for what they are worth to you.

The collector's club is a very good deal.

I like to use insured Priority Mail with Delivery Conformation.

Insure your items for what you can prove they are worth.

No matter how nice your cards may look to you, usually a good rule of thumb would be to insure them for PSA 8 value. Nothing should happen to them on their return trip to you, they are sent Registered by PSA. Just make sure you pack the well and correctly to get there. That is use Card Saver 1's, not top loaders. And, as Storm said, Priority, insured with DC or Sig Conf is fine to gte them there. Don't skimp on the packing materials.

    Hi Fatty

    Welcome to the boards!

When I occasionally ship to PSA, I use registered mail because it has the least chance of being messed with; it's taken very seriously.

Keep in mind when ya ship registered, ya have to use PAPER tape and not any kind of scotch tape - they won't accept any kind of shiny tape since they stamp all over that sucker.

    Good luck on your sub!

Don't be a stranger - what do you like to collect? Sets?
