  • I'm not surprised, who would bother submitting coins to ICG anyway? Not trying to sound mean, just realistic.

Well, remember many collectors buy the coin no matter what slab it's in.. I bought a few 1 oz GOld proofs for a great price on TT a few years ago and two of them had issues over the last summer, I sent them in for replacements or market value guarantee. What can a collector do..

Is ICG part of the bankruptcy filing? That may determine what happens.
  • With an 11 month turn around time, its no wonder things look bleek for ICG.

I believe only PCGS offer that guarantee

If I were you I would be calling to try and get back the coins you sent!

Otherwise you may never see anything from them if they go BK...

    Good luck.

I liked ICG, and used them frequently. Personally, I think the decision to move to Florida was a very bad one, considering all of their graders (all from ANACS) lived here in Austin, and they told them the whole time they were shuttling them to Colorado and back that they would relocate here. They did this for 6 months. They even flew a friend of mine to Colorado for a few days to train on their systems so he'd be able to start as soon as they got here. I think only a couple of the graders stayed on board once the announcement was made that they were moving to Florida instead of Colorado. Mike Ellis became Senior Numismatist for DGS, and I'm not sure where where Tim, Casey, Andy, or Randy ended up...

Legally his coins can't be liquidated in a bankrupcy because they are not ICG property. All coins submitted for grading would have to be returned to thier rightful owners.
