High Noon - Tomorrow!

Ok Coiners - who's buying, how many, why or if applicable why not?! What am I talking about??? You know!

The UHR UNLIMITED! Or 10 anyway.

Lets hear it! Is it a good investment or money down the toilet for the huge premium over spot?

Too expensive for my speculative budget!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Ok people, if you aren't buying you have to put your coiner wisdom to use and state why. Minimal 20 words - otherwise its just ranting- I need to hear some "logic." Alrightttty then! Lets hear it!

    1. I am buying
    2. Why? Well because it is the most awesomest coin ever produced by the mint, it is cost prohibitive and the numbers won't be diminutive however, they won't be high either. Long term- I think its a great investment- immediate return is negative.

Not buying anymore. I own one for the joy of owning the coin, but I don't believe it's a great investment (not a real big driver in my collecting habits anyway). Too many sold to be a rarity, but still a pretty neat item to own long term. I am hoping for a white metal one next year though.
  • Will there continue to be a gold 2010 UHR? Or is that indeterminate at this point?

I'm on the fence. I bought my one limit early and it's got alot of die cleaning marks. I may buy another tomorrow, but I dunno. On the plus side, this is a one-of-a-kind issue. On the minus side, gold is still highly priced. I remain perplexed in the interim!image

My Opinion is it will kill the current premiums, becuase the premiums are only being held up above mint purchase price becuase of the limitation to purchase only 1. This caused many people to bid higher to obtain, and dealers to bid higher /pay more too satisfy thier customer demand (those who wanted more than 1) . With the order limit raised to 10, it will basically saturate or make avaible the extras' that folks want and satisfy demand.

By sheer coincidence i had a guy in the store trying to sell one Friday. Claimed to have no idea that the mint was raising the sales limit.

Got one 70FS and one ungraded.
I have many other numismatic "needs" to fulfill that will cost far less $$$.

Actually, I think its about time they opened up the LP2 Lincoln Sets instead of screwing around with some stupid policy!

  • Ok I needed two more and I think if they stop making them this will be a huge success. Another annual production of these results in a big who cares. But if this is the only year for them I think it'll be a great long term investment.

Now there will be a flood of them available and the premium above melt will shrink.
