Where is the doubling? I don't see it. I have always wondered about these and just thought I would ask.

It's doubled over most of the eagle's wings, legs, the motto, and the olive branch, although I long ago stopped looking at anything but the 4 long tailfeathers... which on a DDR coin is actually 5 long tailfeathers. Most folks don't notice the DDR feature because there is so much doubling that it blends in and looks like a normal coin:

Thanks Dennis. I can see it fine in your close up photo. If I were to pick one, it would be the 64 toned coin with the rev. in front. I like that coin.

The picture only shows part of the doubling- look at EPLURBUS UNUM and the plant/bush beneath that and the doubling is truly amazing. I have had my share of luck finding these.image

  • Those sure are nice. They'd be bigtime upgrade material for me.

I lucked out and made a XF45 on a raw one I purchased from Our Man In Knob Noster. image

It fills the new DDR slot requirement just fine for now. I added those two other new '17's to the basic set and I zoomed right up the list a ways, 100%. That spot won't last long.
