Finally imaged a favorite CBH - 1824 O.115 ex-Logan

I'm working on using my daughter's fancy Nikon camera with diffused lighting to get better shots of my busties. Here's an 1824 O.115 that used to be in Russ Logan's collection. As is the case with most photos, the coin is even better in hand. Certainly one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Very nice half dollar, it appears to be completely original and unmolested.

I do find the picture a tad out-of-focus though.

    Thanks for sharing.

I'm not using a camera mount/stand (yet) so that explains the focus issue, I would think.

I shared this coin at the '06 ANA Summer Seminar on our "show and tell" day in our U.S. Type Coins class. David Lange, one of our instructors, said "Now this is what natural toning is all about." Yes, Russ Logan had great taste and a discerning eye. I am most interested in being able to shoot (stictly an amateur here) a shot that comes close to capturing the color and luster. The above take is getting close. Someday I'll send it off to Becoka or someone else who knows how to do it all the right way.
