....they put a front page article in the Sports Page of today's local paper, the L.A. Daily News to recognize the short, but interesting experience he had in professional baseball, including many of the famous people whose paths he crossed......he was actually the first guy ever to catch Nolan Ryan at the Major League level during a brief stay with the Mets and also one of Jim Bouton's favorite subjects for the book "Ball Four".
i met him briefly a couple years ago at Notre Dame High School here in Sherman Oaks, where he played in the early 60's and then signed with the Dodgers.....more recently, my son Chris played for the N.D. baseball program along with Greg's nephew, Josh, who was just voted the Mission League co-Player of the year for this years' Knights team, the league Champs.
