I have been looking for for one of these for awhile with not only no luck there has been nothing. I can't even find one having hit the open market ever and the only place to find a picture is NGC errors list, which you have to be a member now days to get to. Does any one have decent pictures or any price point, anything on this rare coin????

I thought it might be the double die reverse Trade Dollar but I see you have DDO.
Did you mean the 1876-CC DDR Trade Dollar?

The 1876-S Trade Dollar struck from an obverse doubled die was reported in Issue #71 of the Gobrecht Journal in March of 1998.
The doubling is quite noticeable.
The article was written by John McCloskey, President of the LSCC, and he states in the article that this variety is quite rare.
The Liberty Seated Collectors Club is conducting a survery of Trade Dollrs at the present time.
There will soon be more information on this variety available.

<< <i>Okay, you made me do some searching. I'm not all that into these.

I saw one of those while I was at Collectors Cearinghouse somewhere in the 1974-1976 timeframe. I'm sure we ran a picture of it.
Tried to cherry pick one for 30+ years and never found one. Very rave variety.

So far as I know, there's only about a half dozen of them known.
There are 7 confirmed coins that I am aware of and 1 additional coin that might exist. I am familar with several of them. They are truely one of the most rare of any of the Trade Dollar varieties. PCGS has certified one coin with a grade. I'm willing to bet that some additional coins are lurking out in space somewhere. Send me a PM and I'll send you a picture.....a coin with picture is listed on the NGC registry under Varieties Signiature Series (I forget what its called), look for Concord Collection.
With respect to price.....well all I can say that if a nice one came on the market, TDN and I would be strong bidders. My bet, for a MS coin, I'd be in the 5 digit range. They are that rare.

I've been looking for one myself for many years but have never had any luck.
