The winner of the award gets to host all of the children and grandchildren of forum members at their local Chuck E. Cheese. Julian, please PM me when you plan to be in town to take my kids for the afternoon.
Kudos to the ANA for moving forward with the toughest crowd on earth (the collectors), and possibly one the most gentlemanly dealers. (we've a few where I live, too)

I know you only be reputation and online video ... first class all the way! Congrats!
One of the good guys. Congratulations Julian. You deserve it. I know you don't remember, but I first met you at the Dayton Convention Center back in the 70s. I didn't know it then but I was talking to one of the future stars of numismatics.
I guess I picked a great month to use your "How I Started" story.

"To be presented annually, the [Harry J. Forman Dealer of the Year] [A]ward honors a professional numismatist who shows uncommon dedication to strengthening the hobby and the ANA, and displays exemplary ethical standards as a numismatic dealer. The award was formally established by a unanimous vote of the ANA Board of Governors on Feb. 18[, 2009].
Funds for the award were raised by 23 prominent numismatists in honor of Harry J. Forman, a Philadelphia coin dealer, author and ANA Life Member who died in March 2008. Together with partner Ruth Bauer, he ran the firm of Forman and Bauer, Inc., a respected mail-order coin business. Forman was active in increasing ANA membership and encouraging donations to the Money Museum, and became the Association’s first 'grand patron' in 1982. He received the ANA’s Glenn Smedley Memorial Award in 1998, the Numismatist of the Year Award in 2000 and the Association’s highest honor, the Farran Zerbe Memorial Award, in 2001.
The following are the criteria for Harry J. Forman Dealer of the Year Award nominees:
* An ANA member in good standing
* A full-time dealer for a minimum of 20 years
* A firm commitment to the betterment of the numismatic hobby and ANA, including educational presentations, support for ANA initiatives, articles, etc.
* A commitment to assist in future selection of all Harry J. Forman Dealer of the Year Award honorees for 5 years."
Congratulations, Julian.

I really needed this kind of info today. I've had two, very recent disappointments with prominent dealers, re: Walkers.
This info really helped.
Good going.
Congratulations !

I firmly believe in numismatics as the world's greatest hobby, but recognize that this is a luxury and without collectors, we can all spend/melt our collections/inventories.

He always has a smile and is always pleasant. Julian is a genuinely likeable fellow.
Some of my best transactions are with collectors who previously bought from Julian and believe me, Julian knows quality and had some of the best of the old NGC slabbed collection that was to die for. Had Julian known I was looking for these coins and had I known Julian had this coins, i would have bought them from him in a heartbeat.
But unfortunately, I seem to shy away from giving dealers a want list. But that is sometimes to my own detriment,
Congrats again!
