Why do so many sellers write "L@@K" or "LQQK" in their auction titles?
Do people actually think this is cute or trendy? Personally, I find this type of verbiage to be distasteful, and it just makes the seller look amateurish and unprofessional. Furthermore, I don't see why it's necessary for seller to "yell" at me to look at his or her item(s) -- it's completely unnecessary, if not just plain rude.
Fortunately, you can block out the bulk of these eBay "spammers" by appending -(LOOK*, L@@K*, LQQK*) to your search query -- works like a charm! But I do wish sellers would get the hint, so I wouldn't have to resort to something like this in the first place

I dont care why they do it, I just dont like it. I dont need anyone to tell me to LQQK. If Im interested, Ill look. If not, I wont.
Pretty simple.
I do think some use it to just get peoples eyes on their listings. They may think it helps them and their auctions stand out from others. However misguided theyre.

I'd guess it's because when they start selling, they've seen it so often before that they figure it must be a good idea or people wouldn't do it.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I don't care for them either, one that also gets none of my attention is when they end the title with "WOW"

Because they are dumb@$$es who have no idea how stupid it looks. Usually the same people use ALL CAPS and large colored fonts and paragraph upon paragraph of drivel and minutiae in the annoying fonts. Bonus points for animated gifs, too. Or aerial "moon shot" photos.
(Hey, I am longwinded myself, but I try to stick to the point on eBay. Some folks go NUTS with the keyboard. Just show me the pics and give me a short sentence or two.)
That's a favorite. Especially amongst folks who are selling unknown coins.
In other words, "Here, I have no idea what this is, but it is RARE."

They'd be dumb@$$es for sure if they knew how stupid it looks (to some people, anyway) and did it anyway. But what if they don't? Or what if they actually think it's a good idea? Isn't that possible?
It is stupid to me, and I think I have done it once, but I won't ever do it again, I agree with the consensus, just makes the seller look stupid, and unprofessional.

Maybe, maybe.
But not on me.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss these "little" things. A seller's choice of words often speaks volumes about his level of competence. My contention is that sellers who write gibberish are more apt to be problematic to deal with than those who don't, so it's best to avoid them altogether if at all possible.

great item, shipped fast, but i didnt like the way the listing was worded.
the seller is already at the mercy of the buyer, whats next ?
you can report this listing if:
you feel the item is fake
you dont like the seller
you dont like the state where the seller lives
you dont have enough money to buy the item
you dont like the way the listing was worded

I don't look at estate sales headings, and all caps listings, and of course LOOK LOOK auctions there almost always crap and not worth a look anyway.

If you don't look at auctions with "all caps listings" you're missing a LOT of them. Russ types his titles in caps and most of his auctions are worth looking at!
I don't care for L@@K and my first impulse is to OVERL@@K it, but if it's a coin I'd like to check out, I'm willing to ignore that and HAVE a look.

Reduces the seriousness factor of the listing for me, but in itself doesn't automatically cause me to pass a "L@@K" of the listing.
