1920 found in circulation

I received a 1920 and 1936 Lincoln Cent from Wallyworld today. I have to say, that is the earliest coin I have seen in circulation.

I assume these were received from a roll since there were two in the same draw. I had some icecream so I could not go back to ask to exchange some more coins...

(The icecream was for my Daughters 13th Birthday today).

  • Thats a neat find. The oldest I found was a regular 1909 Lincoln cent.

Ditto. And my 1909 was plain, Fair to AG, and it was 1976 when I found it.

We don't use that acronym "Wallyworld" (I was thinking National Lampoon's Vacation with Marty Moose) but soon figured out it was Wal-Mart. Down here in South Texas, if you go, you're going to Wal-Marts.

Got a 1941 on Sunday at a noodle restaurant taking the kids out for lunch. It's why I like paying cash for things, never know what you'll get in change.

Got my first DC quarter last week as well - the 2009 coins taking forever to get into circulation it seems.

I thought he really meant Wallyworld, the vacation spot.
Does anybody know where the final empty parking lot scene was filmed? The trees really looked like far northern spruce.

Magic Mountain's close proximity to Los Angeles, the hub of the American film and television industry, has resulted in its appearance in several productions, usually representing a park other than itself. In 1982, Magic Mountain became the fictional "Walley World" for National Lampoon's Vacation, with scenes featuring Revolution and Colossus (each using fictional names).

I just got a 1952 quarter (Fine) in a roll today. It is the first silver quarter I have received in change in 20 years.
