Home Trading Cards & Memorabilia Forum

and my wonderful eBay luck continues....

So I sell card for 99 cents, yay for me. I sold about 20 items ending at the same time. Most of them paid and the next morning I was packing and getting ready to ship. This was the only low end item that was not paid for so I figure, what the heck I will go ahead and ship it. Well as they say, no good deed goes unpunished. That was a week ago and the buyer still has not paid. I sent several invoices and a message to the buyer. Well today I got a response. The buyer is from Germany so I guess that explains the grammar.

    Shipping a 99-cent item to Germany w/o receiving payment is always a big risk.

    Actually he is from Australia, sorry.

    I guess I will send him a reply to just keep the card and not worry about paying. I do not know if his story is true, but either way clearly needs the card more than me.

    Sometimes in life you just do a good deed and move on. If you get paid, great, and if you don't, that
    is OK too.

  • Just think about it, if it is true that is son has cancer, don't you feel good that he will get the card? Maybe he dosen't have money in paypal and wants to transfer some money there and he has to wait for that. Sure he should have had the money ready before buying something, but at least its not a high dollar card, so its not that big of a deal. Heck, I would tell you I would pay for the card, but I myself don't have any money in paypal at the moment, haha.

    99 cents but how much did shipping cost you?

    I don't even ship to Canada anymore, not worth it.

    Actually, I was sending identical lots that I sold on sportslots. A single card in a penny sleeve in a top loader inside a bubble mailer.

    1st class postage is about the same to Canada, the problem is when you need DC.

    That will cost you 25.00 instead of 85 cents.

    Good for you.

    Good Day Mr. Alenn;

    I believe that a distant relative of yours living in Nigeria has recently died with a large sum of money. Under current laws, I cannot take the money out of the country. If you furnish me your bank account number and SSN, I will gladly wire the funds.
