WTH happened to the 1998, 1999 & 2000 Wide AM pops??

I was browsing the PCGS pop figures.
As recently as a couple of months ago (last time I looked), the 1999 Wide AM Red (83154) had a population in Red of 19 in MS66 and 6 in MS67, a population that had remained stable for a number of years.
Now it shows 683 for MS66, 317 for MS67 and 51 for MS68!
Similarly, the 1998 Wide AM (83148) had been hanging steady at 95 in MS66, and 12 in MS67.
Now, it shows 283 for MS66, 314 for MS67 and 51 for MS68 (notice some similarities?)
Also, the 2000 Wide AM (83160) had held steady at 345 in MS67, and 2 in MS68.
Now, it shows 687 for MS67, 272 for MS68, and 6 for MS69!
Some of these numbers are very close or equal to the composite pops for these dates.
It is EXCEEDINGLY unlikely massive hoards of these varieties came to PCGS over the last few months without any notice by the collector community, particularly after such a long quiet period. Also, the similarities among the pops, both as compared with one another, and as compared with the composite figures, are very suspect.
Do any of you know of any such hoards being submitted and securing such grades over the last couple months?
I do have an inquiry in to PCGS.

If it's right the 99 wide is the easy one LOL...
If you owned such a hoard, you wouldn't sent it all in at once and destroy it's value.

I think these coins are scarce, but not as rare as some think or claim.
These are modern coins. How many coins are struck from these modern dies? 100k, 250K?
If so, these numbers might get even bigger.
Does this mean they are not worth the attention? No. They were not meant to be struck with the wide AM reverse. They are still cool and will stay that way.
I think the prices for the top coins is justified and will continue to increase over time as some might turn, or spot up.
A true unspotted red will be the rare coin for these, well even for the regular coins with the right close AM reverse.
