Allen's Coin Shop

Any here ever been to Allen's Coin shop in Westerville, Ohio? I go there few times a month to purchase bullion. I just recently got into coins and was wondering if anyone knew this shop and if they were fair. Its a decent size shop IMO, Compared to the 2 other coins shops I've been to image

Can anyone in the central Ohio area direct me to some nice coin shops or coin shows?

Thanks

Moved from NW OH about 7 yrs ago - I recall seeing them on the show circuit in the Buckeye state. Seemed to carry an extensive selection of Canadian and other 'darkside' material, as well as some lower grade US collector coins. I don't have anything negative to say about them, but again, they didn't have much of what I was generally after. Don't recall anyone bad mouthing them either.
There were a few good dealers from the Columbus area, but I can't recall their names, or even if they had B&M stores or not - only saw them at shows. I think there was (hopefully still is) a state coin club - I knew the president and one of the founding members at one time - Gary Moran I think was his name. If you can get in touch with them (and maybe join), I'm sure they can steer you toward the numismatic connections you are seeking. Good luck!

I live in columbus. We have a local club that meets regularly and there is a show in hilliard once a month that's fairly small but fun to go to.

As for allens, well i don't shop there. They pay (too) low and sell (too) high from my experiences. I really don't go to any local shops just the once a month show. If you want more details PM me, i'll try to get more info for you later tonight.
Want to buy an auction catalog for the William Hesslein Sale (December 2, 1926). Thanks to all those who have helped us obtain the others!!!

Thanks, I'm aware of the Hilliard show. I plan to attend the next one, Maybe I'll see you image. I went to a show in Mount Vernon last year that Jim Belt put together. I won a door prize at that show & It was my first. I picked up some paper money there but wasn't into coins at the time. I've only dealt with Allen's on bullion and they do have high premiums but buy price was decent. They were paying 9x face on 90% when spot was $10 +/-

I have purchased one coin there. It was a Liberty V nickel 1883 No cents.

Several years ago I went there looking Lincolns - I asked to use an incandescent lamp in an office and was refused. I left and never went back.
