Does anyone know if Stack's is holding an auction at this year's CoinFest show?

I believe that Stack's held an auction last year at the show, but I just checked their schedule, and I don't see it listed. Does anyone know if either Stack's or some other firm will be holding an auction at the show?

I am plotting my strategy early, and doing some reconnaissance on that evil parking garage. image

  • LOL. I remember that garage. That was tough. I am considering parking offsite and walking in.

I'd like to hear from some folks who have attended in the past, is this a show worth taking the time and going to, if you don't live in the tri-state area? I'm giving some thought to flying up and attending this year.

It depends on what you're used to and what you're expecting.

CoinFest is a great show for its size and Jon Lerner has worked very hard to get a great mix of dealers.

Visit the show site and look over the list of dealers - you'll get a good idea of whether the show will be worth the travel.

On the other hand, if you're expecting Baltimore or the summer ANA, you'll probably be disappointed.

  • Its a very good show. I only live 45 min away though. I doubt I would fly to it.
  • According to 'thecoinfest.com' site , Stacks is scheduled to be
the official auction firm for that show

I might make that one this year - esp. as it is the same weekend as the ANS St. Gauden's events.

My usual hotel is ending its promotional rate on October 4th. I shall have to call them and see if they can extend it for a week. Longacre may find haggling disdainful, but the Coinosaurus has sharp claws image

Why would Longacre worry about an "evil garage" ? I thought helicopter valet service landed on rooftops.
