There was a grand total of ONE numismatic book at a local library booksale this afternoon...
At exactly high noon, I punched the time clock, jumped into my car, and raced to the Westport Library Annual Summer Booksale. I was not able to get there over the weekend, and today was the half price sale. I figured that I would be able to find a selection of numismatic books or items of interest.
Unfortnately, that was not the case. There was a grand total of ONE numismatic book in the collectibles section. That was a Bowers & Merena auction catalog from the 1990's (I think it was called the Fontana collection or something like that. A quick perusal of the catalog showed no items of great interest). It is pretty sad that in my home town's sale, and now this sale, there were essentially no numismatic books.![image](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif)
The hour spent at the sale was not for naught, as I picked up three volumes: (1) "Locked in the Cabinet", by Robert Reich, (2) "A Pictoral History of the Civil War Years", by Paul Angle, and (3) Tales of a New America: The Anxious Liberal's Guide to the Future", by Robert Reich. These three books were purchased for the princely sum of $2.
On the way back, I was going to stop by at Sam Sloat Coins, but given that it was getting close to 1 PM, and not wanting to be docked a full hour of pay, I returned back to The Man.
I am now thumbing through my new purchases, as I enjoy a cup of tomato and basil soup (which was preceded by an apple for breakfast this morning, RYK.

<< <i>I don't know about a Fontana collection, but...if the auction catalog was the 1990 Frontenac sale, it included duplicates from the Ford collection and is actually quite a useful reference. >>
Arrgh... that was it. Did I pass over an excessively helpful resource?
