I will be setting up at the Fremont Coin show in Northern California for the first time this weekend (July 25-26). I understand it's a small show, about 45 tables. Has anyone attended or set up at this show before, and if so, what did you think?

The guy that sets this up (Vince) is top notch.
Perhaps I'll try to swing by and say hiya.
I will be there this weekend to meet up with Sanction II.

..then maybe you'd let me pry that 1905 66BN from your clutches.

you're too funny! Just in case you end up coming, I'm not going to take any chances with your pliers and sweet talk that probably goes along with them - and will leave that pretty little puppy at home!

Todd, what time will you be there? I was there today and met with a few friends but would like put a face to the avatar for you and a couple of others.
So its been very busy here this morning, I was actually slammed for a while which is ver refreshing for these tougher times! I got to meet several forum members in person, Sanction, Becoka, Lyds and a couple others. I'm glad I came here! And tonight I'm having dinner at Massimos with some of my favorite people. Massimos is a nice Italian restaurant which was recommended to me. I went there last night to scope it out and ended up having dinner in the bar. Great food and I even met some regular bar patrons who taught me how to play some fun dice games. The show is dying down now which is typical this time of day. Looking forward to seeing Todd from Bluccphotos tomorrow so I can give him some more coins to photograph. Hopefully tomorrow will be good too.

Compared to past shows, this one was absolutely packed. Why, I have no idea.
I met Becoka and The Penny Lady at the show. I gave Becoka a set of toned MS silver Roosies of mine for him to photograph (when he finishes he is going to post pics on the forums).
Charmy has some gorgeous toned copper. I am in love with a 1912P MS Cent toned a lovely blue color. She has posted pics of that coin on the forums. It would look good in my Lincoln Dansco next to the 1913P, 1915P and 1916P toned Lincolns I picked up from her at the spring Santa Clara show.
Just have to figure out how to scrape up the dough to pay for it.

Sanction, it was nice seeing you again, and it was especially great seeing all you other forum members whom I hadn't met yet, now I can finally put faces with your user names! And I'm glad you like my coins. I especially enjoy hanging out/chatting with other toned copper lovers! But WHOAAA Sanction, you left something out! Perhaps you forgot that I told you I was keeping that particular 1912 for my own set - I was just showing it to you because it was so pretty and I happen to have it with me since Todd is picking up some coins from me tomorrow to photograph. I bought that coin on Ebay and copied their photos so I do have photos on my computer, but I haven't yet posted them on the forum. So, in any event, sorry, but that beauty is NOT for sale!!! :-)

And better than the great sales, I picked up one of the most amazing errors I've EVER seen, truly! Actually, I traded my 1869/69 NGC MS66 RB (plus received additional cash) with a customer for this coin, so you can get an idea of how much I wanted to own this little error! Luckily, Todd (bluccphotos.com) was meeting me at the show on Sunday to pick up some more coins to photograph for me, so I was able to give him this fantastic error and will be able to post photographs soon. However, I hated not being able to go home with this sweet new purchase so I could show it off at my local monthly coin show (Anaheim/Embassy Suites) this coming Sunday.
So, teaser time - stand by folks, I will be posting photos of this fantastic neat error in a new thread sooooon!

For some reason I thought that the 1912P Lincoln was in your inventory of coins for sale. My mistake. I am jealous that it will be in your collection instead of mine. Stunning coin it is, simply stunning.
It was a pleasure to meet you again on Saturday.

You talking about the purple people eater 1912?
Sorry I missed meeting everyone. I thought the show was nice, good traffic. I came home empty handed which is ok. I guess not completely empty handed since I have a few of Charmy's coins to play with.
Well run show and though 2 hours away, worth the drive.
But he got bored after about 10 minutes and walked home (he lives only a few blocks away).
I've only been to the Fremont show for a few years, but it was pretty crowded with folks this time.
I'd say I spent much of my time oogling over Charmy's coins. She pulled one IHC toner out of a 2x2 so that we could see it's full color under the lights. I wish I had a set of nice large cents. I've got three of them in my Dansco 7070, but nothing really special.
Came close to getting some ancient gold, but decided to continue to wait, watch and look.
Was looking for any medal that would fit well with my current collection but I didn't see one.
But mainly, I had to cut the show short because I tweaked my back earlier in the day and any sort of bending over was painful. Fortunately, I took it easy for the rest of the day and the pain went away quickly. Those 'attic crawls' can be very difficult as one gets older. I guess i'm glad I got out of there safely!
I sort of feel bad that I came away empty handed. However, it did seem like a busy show!
The purple people eater 1912P is the one.
Charmy also showed me a pair of MS 1972 P Lincolns that were of the purple people eater variety. One was a regular coin, the other was the double die variety. Quite a nice pair of toned bookends.

So I got the photos of the 1912 and the 1972 back from Todd and have posted these "Purple People Eaters" and some other purple and blue toned copper on a new thread: Purple People Eaters. So check them out and tell me what you think!
