Check out these prices for these 1909 Lincolns:
1909 PCGS AU-58 Stupid bidding
1909 PCGS MS-64 Seems reasonable, plus better looking than that AU-58
Is this a mistake or stupid money chasing that AU-58 designation?

Also more crap then usual
<< <i>I think a nice 58 can blow a mediocre 64 away. >>
True, but in this case no way. That is just a regular AU-58, nothing less, nothing more. Like others, I've seen lots of other stupid bids out there, most likely hidden reserves.

<< <i>It does have the die chips between the wheat stalks and the rims but doestn't look mpl to me either. >>
I see those chips and I can also convince myself I see the die scratch from the back of Lincoln's coat to TY. Not enough to convince myself to buy.

a rather nice strike it seems to me
Its the sellers reserve. the 58 did not end up selling and with good reason.
teletrade has a very tricky way they do their auctions. Do a search on this board for "only realized" all the info you need.
