love 'em, especially the brown ones at the top of the thread. the standing liberty quarter has always been, in my opinion, the best looking depiction of lady liberty in US coinage after the $10 gold coin from 1907-1933, the indian head gold. that one is BEAUTIFUL. but for a silver one, the standing liberty quarter looks pretty good. i just like the shine of gold.

Aberlight - nice coin! I believe I owned that 1927 last year. I could never get enough light on the coin to get a really good shot of it. You have done very well with that pic of yours. I'm glad to see it in a new NGC slab too - the old one had a scratch that made her look as though she was smokin' a stogie. Good job! Here was one of my better attemps at capturing the image. (I like yours more).

Mesquite, yes it is. PCGS wavers between cleaned and altered surfaces on it.

Before the daylight fades I'll post my favorite year of SLQ (seated). (BTW, there are some excellent Seateds posted here today). Not a real looker, but a good example for my 7070. I think the reverse rays do it for me. Minted 100 years before I arrived on the scene.

1890 NGC 65

1919 64 FH NGC a broadstruck coin... and yes, that 1920 looks like the same coin as broadstruck's.
