    Sample Slab?
  • It might be, but it doesn't have a reverse pic, so I am wondering if it is just a fake?

Not fake. I've seen quite a few of these before.

it's legit, it was a promotion that came with a Scott Travers Coin Collecting kit some years back......the coins are always low grade and seem to all be from the teens and twenties (i once gave a pretty good run at a known date run of these)

Wow some are quick to report. At least you could give it enough time to find out. The holder is legit.

They usually sell on average between $5-10, I'm surprised this one went low.
  • I had one of these holder a while ago then i tried to sell it a bunch of people thought it was fake it was an early version of the current "genuine" program

somewhere i've got my list of the dates i used to own......i KNOW i had a 16 and 17 and i'm thinking i have seen a 21 as well.......i distinctly remember 22 being elusive however (may not exist in this slab type)

and like i mentioned before, i believe these were mass produced to market a Coin Collecting Kit/Book that Travers put out......can anyone confirm this?? thanks

I've not seen any other dates in the 5 years I've been collecting samples.

    I'll keep looking .

That is what many people think, I, however, have a 1917. Perhaps it is unique?

I have a few of those as well. Fun to collect.

I seem to recall that these were put together as a promotion along with the sale of one of Scot Travers books about 14 years ago. He and others were giving out these slabs?

Are these the ones or was there another sample slab used for Traver's book?
