Ehh probably not very many. Ike dollar guys that hunted for peg legs and ultra high end ms pieces were considered off the wall types until just recently. Not uncommon to see people doing that now.

    Maybe another decade or so.

I do not collect them, but I do see them listed on eBay as such every now and then.

Guess I should have qualified the recently statement. Around 5 years ago started seeing more people into high end ikes and hunting them more aggressively along with peg legs. Before that pretty rare to see that..

You were a little unusual 20 years ago as a collector but consider it now as just being quick on the draw (or being very picky in what you collect which isnt half bad either)!

  • Check all TT higher-grade MS SBA's for Full Talons: in most years and mints MS67 example are rare, the 80-D being the toughest to locate followed by the 80-S.

David R Golan and I broke the story in "Numismatist", May 2006. It was the cover story so may still be available at the ANA web site. Rob
