Friday coinstar

Kinda meager. It's not the kill, it's the thrill of the chase. At least that's what I'm telling myself tonight image

The Canadian dime is a '68.

Bonus tip for my fellow Coinstar miners if you live in a state that has scratch off lottery ticket vending machines like we do here in Illinois. They seem to keep them close to coinstar machines (I doubt it's a coincidence). The ones here have a little digital read-out that shows how much money you've inserted--the machines take $1s through $20s because they offer $1, $5, $10, and $20 tickets.

Last time we walked past one, my wife noticed it had a $5 credit. Nobody around. Heck yes we took the free $5 ticket image

Not a winner, but just keep it in mind if you've got those machines in your favorite coinstar hunting grounds. Glance at that credit read-out! How cool would it be to win a free $1,000,000! image

Thanks, Clw54. I was starting to think it was such a lame find that nobody cared. It's nice to know I've got a friend.

They should put the coinstars here next to the megabucks machines

Do you pick up scratched tickets to see if they are winners? I found a $50 winner before, It was laying on lid of trash can by the machine. ChaChing image

That's more than I've ever found. I always find NOTHING.

I was once in Daley Center and noticed that the copy machine was showing a $14 credit. I pushed the coin return button and 14 golden dollars dropped out like a slot machine.

No such thing as a lame find. The idea is to have fun and be enthusiastic about it.

I was wondering why the machine spit out good money?

Anyway, I was at the dog track once and walked up to one of those automatic TOTE machines, $37.50 credit on there. I looked around, no body frantically running in my direction, put in my measly $20 credit slip to make some bets...$57.50 total. I should have left then as a winner, but NO! Went through all of it and never touched a race.

I always look and find nothing but junk cents that have been dug up and corroded.

Found a $50 winner in the "losers" trash can when I was around 10 years old.

Had a hard time getting my mom to believe me till she finally looked at the ticket.

You wouldn't believe how long it took to get him to sit still for this.
