Getting that last PSA 8 or better card to finish a set has never been more difficult for me. I now have 12 sets where I need just 1 PSA 8 or better card for completion. Some are impossible or next to impossible but some should be more achievable than they are. I have another 6 sets where I need 2 cards in PSA 8 or better. If I were to just complete these 18 it would take me close to my goal of 100 vintage/semi vintage sets with each card PSA 8 or better. I appreciate any help in finding these cards.

SD Sports Fan,
You think those two are hard try finding a 1961 Essex Meats Sihugo Green card. I have never seen one. I don't believe that there are any graded in psa 8 or better.
Jim
I'm just about to list my '41 PB set in the next day or two, individually. I know I have Campbell in an 8, and possibly Case. I've misplaced your email address and your pm's are off, can you shoot me an email?

Hope you find those tough ones
Go Phillies
Also have another set where I have gone from two cards needed to one and negotiating to finish.
More details to follow.
Jim
I'm stunned by the range and quality of your many sets.
What I really like is that you are not a recluse , as are so many of the others , with like quality sets. I like how you share your achievements , as they happen.
Keep up the good work.---- Sonny
Thank you for the kind words.
I would not call other major collectors a recluse. I have met or corresponded with all the members of the PSA Set Registry Hall of Fame--Marshall Fogel, Charlie Merkel, Don Louchios, Don Spence, Steve Soloway, Bill Bengen and Mike Rakosi and have found them all to be very personable. They just choose not to talk about the hobby here. I have seen Marshall post on the Net 54 Vintage Baseball board with scans of his cards and Bill Bengen posts on the non-sports board of Net 54.
Good luck with your collection.
Jim
Frank
You talk to me too. Awesome collection once again.
Shane
Thank you. You have some spectacular Philadelphia Sets(1964-67) and you early Bowman sets are pretty good too.
Shane,
64 Topps Stand-Up-Baldshun, Hunt, Woodeshick(psa 8 or better)--find them for me at the National--please!
Jim
The Baldshun is impossible to find. You know that I will continue to hunt these three down for you.
Shane
Haven't checked to see your progress in some time.
Incredible!
Good luck in getting those last cards for that set.
I know what that means - I just completed picking up my 25th variation to the sheet music Take me out to the Ball Game from 1908 - at 25, I believe I have the largest checklist and actual sheet music of - perhaps - anyone around. Heck, the HOF thought there was only 11!
mike
Wasn't aware of your collection--good luck!
This e-mail resulted in me finishing two sets and possibly a third--Thank you everyone!
