Anybody else get this email? Thought I'd help get the word out.

Major baseball card card collection stolen valued at over 500K.

Most bought on ebay and from major dealers over the past 3 years.
Many completed and near completed sets from 1970 to 1981 all psa graded (over 70% of these are registered with PSA under MintMoondog)
100s of PSA from the 60s - mainly 1970s:
Included PSAs are 3 complete and near complete 72 topps, 5 complete and near complete 75 minis (with approx 2000 extras), 2 near complete 76 topps, near complete 73 and 74 topps, near complete 77, 78 and 80 sets.
Thousands of rookie cards including 1954-56 Al Kaline in psa8, 14 psa 9 Yzerman rookies, 2 psa 10 Yzerman rookies, 40 Cabrera rookies, Pujols, 50 psa 9, and 20 psa 10 Barry Sanders Score rookies
Several raw complete sets including 3 from 1975 mini, 2 1972, 2 1973, several from the later 1970s, 20 1984 DR sets.
Several unopened cases including 2 1977 sealed vending cases, 2 mini cases, one sealed and one cracked recently won in the REA auction, one sealed 1979 vending case, 1 sealed 1981 vending case. one box with 14 1977 vending and 15 1979 vending boxes. Many many others too numerous to list.

4 paintings: Sandy Koufax and Shoeless Joe Jackson recently won in this years REA spring auction, one Bird and Magic Johnson #99/99 from Stephen Holland, 1 Blood Ryan from Stephan Holland.
These cards will most likely be sold out of the Atlanta/Duluth area of Georgia. Very few collections come from this part of the country.

A reward will be given for information leading to the arrest of the thieves.

I had commented next door on this and saw this thread also.

I really feel bad for Henry - that's my nightmare! I occasionally have a dream that I was cleaned out!

What I think may be unnecessary at this point in the thread over there? All the quasi lecturing about insurance, safes, vault boxes etc. The man needs solace and morale support right now IMO and not a class on collectibles security.

In a way - they've kind of hijacked the guy's thread with cross talk about the issue of security.

My take? Totally "inside" job - they had to know his habits and the fact he had all this stuff.

I agree, it must be an inside job!

I feel bad for the guy and hope he gets some or all of his cards back.

If you read the other posts about this (for example inside the 1975 Topps Mini Thread) Moon mentioned that it looked like they were "attacking" other parts of the house until they discovered the mother load of sports cards, and they dropped everything else where it laid. He said there were expensive things stacked by the door, but they left it for his cards and such.

My first thought was also "inside job" and they were going there strictly for the cards, but after knowing about the other stuff being stacked up like that, they must have just been there to rob the place in general. Which also means they won't be very smart while selling the stuff, and won't realize the PSA cards are traceable.

It's only a matter of time (I HOPE) that he'll find his cards... MAN I hope...

It makes me physically sick to my stomach every time I read that post...

Hey guys

Yes this really sucks Ive been the one contacting everyone. Henry asked me to send it along on my client list. Though I never spam my contacts this was
one instance I though I needed to. Im also checking craigs and all my ins and outs.

From what Ive been told it doesnt sound like a inside job which I found the story hard to believe.

All I can say is Henrys a real great guy and dear friend, client. He's done nothing but only make this hobby better in the past 5 years. So all that said anything
that I can do to get his cards back Im gonna do it. Not to mention some of them were my cherries in the first place which makes me sour.

Please try to keep this on top and lets not dig the dagger deeper.

I agree, he seems like a great person, and an excellent contributor to this community. I don't know him personally, but I always liked reading about his collection in the PSA Set Registry forum, and have even contributed a couple '75 minis to his collection. I wish I could do something, but I live in NE Ohio. He seems like he has a great support group, and I hope that helps him get as much of his collection back as possible.

If there's anything I can do up here in Ohio, please let me know. I am going to the National in Cleveland, do you think we should drop off fliers up there?

is a common tactic used by jewelry-burglars who want
LE to waste time looking in the wrong place.

Modern LE seldom falls for the ploy.
