the only bad thing about Ichiro is the market he plays in. He is one of the examples of everything that is good about the game.

    Hi ToneD,

    Great gesture on Ichiro's part!

Watching Ichiro's facial expressions, as the President was signing a ball for him last night, only compounded my respect for him as a player and mostly as a person!

    Thanks for the post!

  • Living here in Seattle, Ichiro is the one player when the TV has the game on and I'm up doing things I'll stop every time to see him bat. He even makes infield singles look exciting. I believe Griffey Jr. has really made him more relaxed this year and he's having more fun. They both bat in the same batting practice group and they are always laughing and having a good time. I'm glad he honors a great player from the past with such respect. What President Obama said to Ichiro when he handed the autographed baseball back to him is true, he said, "here you go Hall of Famer".
