Help with value on a 1916 Standing Lib Quarter

handymanhandyman Posts: 5,384 ✭✭✭✭✭
Hi guys, Im not really an avid coin collector but my father is and he needs a 1916 plain quarter. Im aware of its rarity and value but I just wanted to get yalls advice on where I can find one. He wants me to buy a G4-6 where he can read the date with no problem. What have they been selling for on the open market in this grade???
Thanks guys
Derek

These bring full retail when they are for sale in the open market, so look to spend several thousands of dollars.

PS--Buy one slabbed by either PCGS or NGC only.

a G4 to G6 coin will not have the full date, the date will be discernable but not full

By definition a full readable date is a Fine coin. Just sold one of those this past weekend for around $6500.

A G4 will run you around $2750-3000, but you won't be able to read much of the date at all.
