1971 All Star game on mlb last night..........

Interesting to watch pitcher Doc Ellis bat without a helmet.
Reggie Jackson's homer was aided by 30 mph winds to right field. It was a hanging slider that he crushed.
Frank Robinson, Bench homered also. Hank Aaron hit his first All-Star home run to right field also. Aaron came into
the game hitting .175 in All-Star competition.

Bud Harrelson was the NL's shortstop hitting .260 with 0 home runs.
Frank Howard was sitting next to Reggie on the AL bench, and Reggie looked like a midget next to him.

Also saw clips the other night from the 1967 world series. Amazing that after Bob Gibson pitched the final out, fans stormed
around him, and the second base umpire took the hat off of Gibson's head and ran to the dugout. image

The Jackson homerun was a monster. I believe the ball hit the top of the light tower above the upper deck .

I was watching game 6 of the 1977 World Series...watching Reggie plow through the crowd and knocking people down like he was an NFL linebacker!
