Cards that do not get the grade you expected

What do you do with cards that you submit and maybe get an 8 instead of a 9 or a 9 instead of a 10? I have a nice stack of these that probably are not worth more than the grading fee that just sit here. Do you just list them on e-bay and hope to get some money back or does everyone have a pile like I do that just sits on your desk and takes up space? Has anyone set up at a local show to unload a bunch of these cards? Just thinking as I actually try to clean a little.

If you don't see anything wrong with some of the 9's, crack them and resubmit.

I am going through the same thing. I have about 200 Mike Bossy PSA 4- 8's that are not worth the grading fee (even some 9's) and have no idea what to do with them. I would be happy to sell most 8's and 9's for grading fee and give away the rest as set fillers to the people who buy the cards from me for grading fee.

  • I have a stack of about 50 that are going on eBay as one lot as soon as I get the energy to name them all in the listing.

Crack and resub, or crack and sell raw.

I just take the hit and sell them.I figure many times I make a nice profit on my sales although I do not consider myself a big seller so selling at a loss would be covered.I am not in this hobby to make money. This is just a hobby that I developed in 1959 for my enjoyment nothing more.
You can say I am a very old school collector.

  • I would say crack and resubmit, but isen't it easy to damage a PSA graded card when trying to crack it? I have found it easy to crack BVG graded cards, because they have the inner sleeve, so the card inside is protected a little more. I would stay away from cracking PSA graded cards but good luck if you deceide to do it!
