This (as pathetic as it may sound for most of you) is by far my best submission. Either my eyes are getting better (meaning I'm learning) or I just got really lucky.

    Glad to see that I am not the only one who gets stuck with some absurd arbitrary 5's. I have about 4-5 of them that I will scan in later that should be at least in the 8 range...IMHO.
  • The 1975 PSA 9, I'm still excited about. Last year I did a bulk submission and got about 10 8's maybe... and a veritable crap-ton of 7's and 6's... getting 8's (for the most part) and a 9 is thrilling.

    Actually adding to my set using cards collected as a kid is pretty satisfying for me.

    Those surprise 5s seem to most often be a result of wrinkle in the card's surface that you might not have seen.

    I wouldn't say it's worth less than the grading fees image Mattingly was the first player I collected when I was younger, I've been contemplating starting a Mattingly master registry set as I still like seeing his cards.
