I won this coin on ebay, but the same coin is for sale by another guy

The auctions look identical except for the seller's ebay handle. I wrote to him, asking for an explanation. I hope it's a simple mistake. Is it permissible for one seller to have multiple ebay accounts and different names? image

Anyone do business with either seller? neyronix has a lot for sale, some quite nice & pricey. I hope he's legit because I also bought this '93-S Morgan.
Lance.

I bought this one.

This one's still for sale.

Don't know either seller, but I would hold off sending any more money before knowing the truth.

In my opinion, one of the two is a scammer. You might ask each for the orginal photo that was uploaded to e-bay. The scammer will be unable to produce anything but the e-bay photo.

Editted to add: Of course if what Bayard says is right, it could just be an honest mistake!

Hopefully they meet your criteria just fine, and you won't find a need to return them, Otherwise he is liable to file for bankruptcy again and you'll have to keep them anyway.

that is one dealer that i'd never buy a coin from.

They're the same guy, and I've delt with him before without any problems. I'm not sure why exactly he lists the same coin on eBay twice...but whatever. Looks like you got a pretty good deal on this coin. image

My husband has bought quite a few coins from Bob Hughes and has never had a problem. We have always gotten a good deal.

either way, i'd still be questioning the seller as to why the other coin is still up.

I've had a similar experience in the past... turned out it was because it was Sunday and the seller was home...day off... and did not get into the office until Monday
Re: Slabbed coins - There are some coins that LIVE within clear plastic and wear their labels with pride... while there are others that HIDE behind scratched plastic and are simply dragged along by a label. Then there are those coins that simply hang out, naked and free image
  • Its interesting that considering they are both the same seller that one has bid on the others items and left feedback. Welcome to the shill bid. Why dont buyers ever do a little more research before spending that kind of money?

may 15th neronox bought item number 290314742981 and 300312475680 from supecool. supecool just happens to be the same seller that has the lincoln for sale that you already bought from neronox.

If there was a shill involved he did a rather poor job. The coin sold for hundreds of dollars under FMV and his BIN.

As for doing "a little more research", please, lose the superiority attitude. Bases were covered in the event of any problem, as always.

    The seller wrote this AM...
We will be shipping coin to you today. Supecool is just one of my agents thats sells coins for me. I will make sure he pulls coin off EBAY today. He was suppossed to do that already.
    Thank you,
    Bob Hughes

    Thanks for the help, guys!

Still.....if the 2nd ID is one of his "agents" and has a history of "buying" coins from the 1st ID, then there is something hinky going on....even if you think it was under the FMV, it is still very questionable.

That said, if you got a price you are happy with, and a transaction you are happy with, well, then the ultimate say on the matter is yours....

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • I dont have a superior attitude. I am not saying he shilled the item you bought or even the two listed. I stay away from sellers with fishy activity such as this seller. If I was buying a 2k coin I am not sure I would be doing it from this seller. Like a previous post said, if you are happy with the price and coin arives fine then congradulations.

the "agent" story is just one more reason i'd avoid him, like the other reasons that many on this forum know.
