What do you thinks it worth? Then again I would send it in first then determine the price. Since it is a double die would that stop it from being graded a 70?
Was actually trolling to see if anyone else had found any. Bought 3 today at a local show!!!!!!!!!
All from the same guy. Looked through 220 sets (10 boxes) another dealer had and found nada. Got out of the guy that he ordered direct from the mint and not from any of the local bulk buying dealers that supply the majority of the dealers. 2 are nice 1 has a fingerprint when he put it in a 2x2. Light and should come off with alcahol or acetone.
<< <i>I can not see the DDR in the pictures that have been shown here at all. Can someone put up a picture and point it out to me. thank You >>
Don't have a comparison pic handy, but - the "normal" design should have the right edge of the spine on the book going in a straight line directly down to where it touches the top of the hand - the DDR has doubled the finger upward so that it appears that the spine curves and runs along the hand towards the intersection of first finger and thumb.
<< <i>I have 13 proof sets and 2 of them do exactly that. This I did not expect. It sure is different from the other DDR's. >>
And 1 of the 2 that I have like that goes through the hand on to the back of the book. I wish I could post a picture but I have not been able to figure it out yet. Makes me feel awful stupid.

<< <i>Thank you boucharda what does everybody think? >>
These have both been confirmed as proof DDR001's. >>
Strange. They look exactly like the CDDR-006's to me. The 001 is either the double thumb-Crawford, or the extra finger- Wexler.
Either way it's a cool find. Still I wouldn't part with that kind of dough for one....jeeze $2700 is........
Everyone has a different view on what they like, I'd pay $45 for that proof coin; I'd pay $100 for the skeleton finger raw....however I have found a lot of the skeleton, so I'm not looking to buy.

Thats like saying the skeletons are worth $500 but I'm not buying. Like a jewelry appraisal, you can wipe something with it.
I'll gladly pay $100 per for the proof ddr's and take up to 1,000 or so.
Want some skeleton fingers for $50? I can get all you want for that.
The proofs are called ddr-001 because theyre the FIRST ddr found for the proofs. They look very close to the wexler ddr-007 mint state coin,.
I think you would have a hard time finding 1000 of them. What is our count up to,12 I believe. Only 988 to go to reach your goal. Oh,I forget, the price is a little bit more!
<< <i>I think you would have a hard time finding 1000 of them. What is our count up to,12 I believe. Only 988 to go to reach your goal. Oh,I forget, the price is a little bit more! >>
Exactly! Thats why I would gladly be GENEROUS over his estimate of 45 bucks. Theres no way the skellie will ever be worth more than the proof.
Sounds like someone has some skeletons he wants to off and needs more than the current ebay market price..
I know another dealer with quite a hoard of skellies. No one has an estimate of pop on skellies or any other. I'm betting under 20k per variety for wexler 1-13 with the exception of ddr005 & ddr-008. 06 & 07 are the same die I believe just different die states. So maybe 4-5k for each of those.
<< <i>[Sounds like someone has some skeletons he wants to off and needs more than the current ebay market price. >>
Yes, I have some, but in no hurry to part with them. Was simply curious as to what the guesstimate was, considering it was a single obverse - dual reverse striking.
<< <i>I'd pay $100 for the skeleton finger raw....however I have found a lot of the skeleton, so I'm not looking to buy. >>
How many is "A lot"? >>
Have exactly 20 from 4 boxes.......plus a roll w/one showing on the end I haven't opened.
All dated 4/23......2 were 9883 @ 07:24 and 3 were 9774 @ 09:58
Hey, don't read between the lines: I just wouldn't want to spend $2700 for something so boring looking. Sure it's rare, but so is platinum, and I own none. It looks like silver.
I'm just saying if I saw the two coins side by side, not knowing anything else, I'd prefer the skeleton. I realize it will never compare to the proof errors which people will pay plenty for.
I'm guessing they are being sold quickly instead of being held by collectors for the same reason.......get some money and run...cuz they UGLY
Once back from ANACS I'll most likely be selling one of three.
Perhaps two but not all three.
I don't think the Mint caught these at all, not considering some of the other errors I've found in these sets which are much more glaring that have slipped by.
<< <i>I just think he made a huge mistake in putting it up starting at .99. Someone is going to get a big bargain. >>
Oh I don;t know. Certainly the folks with bids are aware of the one which sold earlier. We'll review once that hammer falls on that piece but I expect that the last couple of seconds os gonna get a little pricey.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.
I,m sure it will but he must be sweating at this point with less than 2 hours to go. My will be shipping next Thursday, how about yours? We will get to see what we have to look forward to.
Papi, I don;t know where you'e getting PR66 but the prvious coin ws a PR67DCAM.
Regsrdless, $455 will be a super buy especially if the pops stay relatively low on this. After all, the biggest distinguishable difference between this and the business strike coins is that its a proof and the pops most assuredly are lower than 3,000 total.

Did you only find ONE? If so you definately have a BIG TIME WINNER. Congrats by the way, I think I have forgotten to say that to you about this one.

I see what you are refering to in the first pic.... it "appears" to be either a strike-thru or die crack?? Can't really tell without a closer pic?
I probably should have sent it in for verification. Too late now, it's already at ANACS.

I am not a very good picture taker and that was the best I could get with my dino lite. Maybe I will try again when they get back from ANACS.

The 99c wasn't a mistake. 99c and no reserve, that was the mistake. But we'll see.....
I won't even bid on a "reserve" auction.

Sell it fast while you can
I looked thru 200 sets from our bulk order and found nothing.
sounds like these are being found in early small orders.
That's where mine came from.
I am still awaiting word from ANACS on my 2 coins. I should know by tomorrow what the grades are.
Has anybody found any more?
The last count I heard was 12.
There has to be more than that !
<< <i>I have one type 1 >>
Great , that brings the count to 13.
woops!
