My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009. We were stunned that another child of ours had been diagnosed. Please, if you don't have a favorite charity, consider giving to the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
I collect Seattle Pilots autographs, 1969 Topps autographs, Signed Mickey Mantle Home Run History cards and have a JC Martin collection (he was my college Baseball coach) Doug
As Vince Lombardi would say "What the hell is going on out there?????"
This has offically replaced the "cut" Willie Stargell autos that came from the Nabisco cards from the early 90's. Pretty soon we are going to get a cut auto cut from another cut auto card. Jim Gaffigan should do a routine about this.
Currently completing the following registry sets: Cardinal HOF's, 1961 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1972 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, 1980 Pittsburgh Pirates Team, Bill Mazeroski Master & Basic Sets, Roberto Clemente Master & Basic Sets, Willie Stargell Master & Basic Sets and Terry Bradshaw Basic Set
I have an issue with the price??? Is it being driven from the 1/1 on the card (first of all thank god only one of these was produced, I agree it is freaking ugly). A couple of years ago a local radio station had an event with Nolan Ryan signing autographs. I waited in line for several hours and got an official MLB baseball signed on the sweet spot. From reading the comments in this thread I gather most of you would rather have that. There is no way I could sell that ball for more $50 on ebay.
I'll take another example (another Ranger since that is what I am familiar with); Josh Hamilton signs a ton before the game, after the game, etc. I have gotten him 10 or so times, but if you can get some card company auto'd card that is in blue or red or numbered out of 8 it sells for some ridiculous price on the bay. Is it just me or does that seem out of wack??? Basically they are manufacturing scaricty.

I agree 100%. People love serial numbers. Another great example is you'll have different verisions of the same player's auto in the same set. One is numbered to 499, the other is numbered to 25. Obviously the one numbered to 25 will greatly outsell the other even though it's the same player, same auto. It's just a collectible thing. Pretty stupid if you ask me.

I thought the whole point of "cut" autographs is that they were cut from a letter, document, 3X5 card, etc...
