New Ebay Format and picture view

Many people here have discussed this already but I am having a hard time viewing the images due to the small sizes when people host their images with Ebay opposed to referencing external images at larger sizes within the description. I am viewing on a 22" monitor and feel for the people using 17" monitors. In the past I would use the Firefox magnifier and zoom in on pictures, but the new format is in a java script and I cannot right click to zoom in. Can't even copy the images and zoom in using imaging software. Direct links don't work either. Does anyone have an idea of how to take the images and get a better view?

Ebay really screwed up this time. Unless someone links larger external images this is a crap shot on what you will receive. It frustrating and almost not even worth the effort.

This is another change initiated by eBay on its own probably without contacting any customers. If you don't believe that, ask yourself, did eBay actually ask any customers: "As a buyer of coins on eBay, would you like smaller pictures that can't be enlarged?"

If eBay cared, it might be worth complaining to them. However, . . . image

I completely agree. While the research department is riding segways and playing Lego vs. Transformer wars the development team just moves coding around and when the sales fall, they blame it on the economy.

  • Ebay cares...

Now the seller has to pay the extra bucks for bigger pic's. LOL!

Actually, depending on your settings, the picture may show up smaller on a 22" monitor. If you're on a small monitor set at 480x640 it may fill the entire screen. You can switch to a lower resolution mode and see if that helps. -Jerry

And the general suckiness of yet another eBay "improvement" surprises you, why?

I really can't believe someone is having a problem with ebay, they send me messages all the time about what a great job they are doing....image

Unless the photo is so small it will allow no magnification, I have no problem enlarging photos, at least with Windows XP(I just did it to insure it still works)--merely right click on the photo in question save it as a picture file and then open the file and windows will magnify as far as you wish or as quality will allow.

I hate the new pic format where I have to click on the enlarge button to see the rest of the photos and wait for some stupid java box to open up that doesn't seem to always work correctly. Glad I know how to link big photos into the text of my auctions using HTML for free!

It was gone for me yesterday after I complained.

I don't use eBay's picture hosting (other than the gallery pic) so all my images remain full size in the listing; new item display has no effect.

Of course, shopping on eBay has now become a royal pain in the azz.

Very true! It seems that every change they make makes it worse.
They could fix it by going back to the old software from a few years ago and get applause. image

    100% agree with you.
I host 1 picture with ebay so it is easier to show up in the pictures for the listing but inside, I use my own links and pictures; though, I haven't sold anything on ebay in MONTHS.

For buying, I just noticed this crap yesterday and gave up shopping because it was such BS. I don't "need" ebay, though I do like shopping/bidding/winning, but when it becomes too much of a hassle, I just ignore it.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

I'm hoping more people complain. Just sent my email off about five minutes ago.

I am tired of them changing things just to prove how "fresh" they are
