Dale Murphy. He broke in as a catcher, played catcher and first base his first four years (1976-79), moved to the outfield in 1980. He won five consecutive gold gloves (1982-86).

Pete Rose's only gold gloves were in 1969-70 in the outfield.

Steve Garvey broke into the majors at 3rd base and won gold gloves at 1st base. I'm a big Steve Garvey fan and I still can't believe he had a good enough arm for a 3rd baseman.

He didn't, that is why they moved him to first.

He probably had a decent enough one for college ball.

    Steve

    Good for you.

For sure...It used to bug me watching Garvey making throws anywhere...He had an awkward motion, but he got the job done.

Craig Biggio broke into the majors as a catcher (1988), then mixed in some outfield play (1989, 1990), played 3 games at second base in 1991, and became a full-time second basemen in 1992 and then won Gold Gloves at second base in 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997.

It looks like there were also a handful of guys that played several positions early in their careers that eventually settled on one position and won GGs.

Matt Williams started his career splitting time pretty equally between SS and 3B and he won gold gloves at 3B.
Tim Wallach played as an OF in his rookie season and won a GG as a 3B.
Frank White played a fair amount of games at SS before winning as a 2B.

What? He's a first ballot HOFer, regardless if there's a void or not.

Darin Erstad is the only guy who's ever won gold gloves in different positions.

He won Gold Gloves in the outfield in 2000 and 2002, then won one at first in 2004.
