1972 S Lincoln Proof..........is this a DDO ? opinions please...BIG PICS...


I was looking thru some proof sets today and found two of these, the other 1972 sets were the usual.......

  • I dont think it is a DDO or DDR, not very pronounced in the doubling at all...
  • Yes, its a minor DDO. I have several just like this, and yours is a nice looking coin, except for the light haze.

    A DDO or DDR does not have to be extreme or major to be claaified as such. It just means its not as obvious to the naked eye, and more than likely wont command a premium. Still its a DDO for sure.

    One rule of thumb with DDO's is that if you have to ask, it's probably not.
    And even if it techincally is, since it isn't obvious, it generally wouldn't bring a premium anyways.

    I think it's the old de-listed ddo die-5. (now listed as MDO-001)
    Does it show on the top of the U of trust???
    (these are not worth a premium since it's a master DDO)
