Vintage Basketball Article

An ally from eBay and this website asked me to post this.

I wrote this last year... One really cool thing about Beckett is that if you write an article, they may publish it. I wrote this because I just couldn't fathom the prices that SP Authentic, SPX and game used autographed memorabilla cards were selling at. At the time, I had just witnessed an SPX Steve Francis RC sell around $650... and a SP Carter #3500 for $1100!!!

Meanwhile, PSA 8 Rc's of Dr. J, Frazier, Reed, Maravich etc were selling for significantly less. It just seems really crazy. Find me 3500 NM/MT copies of Dr. J's rookie?

Its amazing how that article translates to baseball and football as well.

I remember reading your article when I still subscribed to Beckett basketball a few years ago and I agree with you completely. Comparing a new rookie card, no matter how limited, to a nice 57 Russell or 61 Chamberlain is absolutely ridiculous.

Ditto to what Koby just said.
