Finally PSA has listed the All-Time Pittsburgh Pirates on the registry . As a long time Pirate fan, I’m very happy to see this set on the registry.
I look forward to building this set, because 1. Die Hard fan and 2. The Pirates have such a rich history of great players.
I hope all Pirate and baseball fans enjoy this set as much as I do.

Hopefully they can fix the order of the set composition so it lists the cards by year rather than player's last name. The set comp looks a bit jumbled going from vintage to modern to vintage, etc. The other all-time baseball sets are sorted by card year.

Thanks for sharing your Registry link and scans. I most like your 1955 Topps Clemente. In fact, I've never seen anything but a terrific rendition of that card - with the olive background hues fading from one side to the other. Fantastic! Congrats on owning the masterpiece.
I received the following email from Cosetta on Saturday re: the set composition order:
Hi John,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We’ll get the set re-ordered during the coming week.
Thank you,

Set composition is now fixed.
Pirates logo history shows red, but they need a change...

<< <i>I'm not working on enough of a rambling mess, so I started this set too >>
Jim good to see you building this set. I really enjoy it.
The Cobra himself. (Border line HOF player)
This Doug Drabek is only a POP 7 It's very surprising since it's 1987 Donruss. I'm sure the POP will grow over time.
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
I second that on the Rooney's buying the Pirates.
Thanks for the kind remarks. Believe it or not, I bought it and because Hoyt was a Yankee. I'm really proud of the '72 Clemente OPC, I never expected it to grade PSA 8.

Those are great looking Al Oliver cards. I love the Jack in the Box card.
Here's my latest and greatest. I just received this TTM from Mr Parker.

Known as Pep Young (aka: Lemuel Floyd Young), played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1933-40).
The high point of Pep's career was when he finished 14th in voting for the 1938 National League MVP for playing in 149 Games and having 562 At Bats, 58 Runs, 156 Hits, 36 Doubles, 5 Triples, 4 Home Runs, 79 RBI, 7 Stolen Bases, 40 Walks, .278 Batting Average, .329 On-base percentage, .381 Slugging Percentage, 214 Total Bases and 5 Sacrifice Hits.
Pep worked the "middle of the infield" with the great HOFer, Arky Vaughan. Pep's outfield wasn't "too shabby", with the likes of "Big & Little Poison" (aka: HOF brothers: Paul & Lloyd Waner).
BTW, Pittsburg, with their Manager, Pie Traynor, finished in 2nd place in 1938, with a record of 86-64.

Here are a couple of my favorite odd ball (Bazooka) Pirates collectibles.
Currently collecting 1934 Butterfinger, 1969 Nabisco, 1991 Topps Desert Shield (in PSA 9 or 10), and 1990 Donruss Learning Series (in PSA 10).
They are from the 1971 Topps/Bazooka Tipps From Topps on How to Play Baseball. It was a booklet that you could send 175 bazooka comics or (are you ready for this) 5 comic and 35 cent for an umpire balls/strike counter. You could also send in 500 Bazooka comics or $1 and 20 comics for the outfield fold down sunglasses. There is information about contacting MacGregor for an equipment catalog. The pictures came from the booklet I have.

<< <i>Here's some of my raw Pirate cards. I threw in a current player since the Pirates have played decent ball to start the season.
I love the '64 stand up cards.

Walker may be forced to don the tools of ignorance again. The catchers are dropping like flies. The lineup is atrocious right now. If the pitching falls back to earth they could be in for a very bad spell.

Btw if anyone is interested I'm selling the 69 Topps Deckle PSA 6 for $35. PM if interested.
