Paypal question.

I am just making sure I am covering my rear with this question.I just sold a card for $7000.00.Can I use Fed Ex or UPS.Also would the best way to do it be overnight shipping with insurance? Will Paypal take a tracking number from FE or UPS?
Thanks
Mike

I'm probably not the most qualified to speak on UPS or Fedex, but I was under the impression that at least FE would only insure up to $1000 on collectibles. I talked to a rep and they told me if it is more $$, it needs to be insured by someone else. Not sure on UPS.

I would suggest USPS Registered mail. A little slow, but most secured way of shipping I know

from what i remember about FedEx they won't insure something that valuable, so UPS would be better, but insurance will cost you some coin....

Now I'm curious, what card did you sell? Slap me if I'm being too intrusive image

    UPS will insure it.

One time we sold a Tech2 automotive scan tool and were supposed to insure it it for $3000. It actually was sent by the dumbass shipper insured for $30000. All the profit in the sale was lost insuring the damn thing. LOL

Not intrusive at all.It gives a good chance to show it off one last time.

  • Also before anyone asks, the reason I moved it was becuase I couldn't comfortably display the card for my enjoyment.I did make a promise to myself to buy something that I could enjoy with the proceeds.I am thinking about getting both 34 Goudey Gehrigs in low grade.

  • Is there anything else I am missing to cover my rear against any issue?I guess I am nervous because I never sold anything this expensive.

Very nice card. You might want to pm Storm and get his input just to make sure all of your bases are covered.

Whichever service you use, make SURE that it includes

  • For 7 grand, I would fly it pesonally to them. That's just me but my entire collection may not be worth 7k.

Of course, there is NO PayPal "Seller Protection" for personally delivered items.

A PP INR-claim would be a slamdunk, for a scamster.

If you send something by UPS requiring a signature, and the customer has a signature release on file with UPS, what do they do with the package?

As long as it shows up as signed electronically the seller is covered.
