    Well I just started collecting this summer, friend at work got me interested. And Silver Dollars just caught my eye more than the rest. I also have almost the entire Eisenhower Dollar Proof set bought. And also a couple peace dollars. Hope to expand and improve all my collections over the years.
    I am 21, still in college.

    Well, I liked the silver aspect to them 1st. I also think since they have a large enough amount of them that it would be fun trying to collect them. And also they are not horribly expensive... considering I'm still in college, that part is also important to me. They also seem like they retain and increase in value well.

    Anybody have an opinion on the grades of the coins?
    I know most of them aren't great, but I really don't know what the actual grade of them would be.

    Rather than do that, I would recommend scrounging a copy of the Redbook, getting a copy of the Photograde guide... In fact, there are a wealth of books on grading - and circulated Morgans are relatively easy to grade.

    Read a bunch of the old threads here (try searching on "Morgan" and "Grade" in the search engine)...

    For what it's worth, for overall eye appeal I like the last coin in your post, at least in comparison to the others.

    I actually just bought a Redbook 2010, a pcgs grading book, and a book on us silver dollars! Can't wait til they get to my house!

    Yes have fun but learn all you can before making more Ebay purchases. There are a ton of bad coins in raw form on Ebay (Cleaned, Whizzed, Tooled, AT) etc so knowing some of the sign of what to look for can save you some cash. Additionally having a basic understanding of grading will give you a better chance of not over paying since you will know the grade and can look up values in your redbook.

    As far as collecting Morgans.....it is probably the most widely collected coin series on the planet and fortunately with some many millions sitting in coin vaults for many decades the prices are quite reasonable even in Choice uncirculated for most dates and mint marks. Morgan's are my favorites though I only buy rainbow toned examples with good eye appeal......good luck, keep us posted and stick around a bit.
