Scout dollar - opinions?

Anyone have an opinon on the scout commem?

I remember I was at scout camp in '85 for the 75th anniversary and it seems like the 100th anniversary was infinitely far away. I started collecting coins around then so will get this comem for sentimental reasons.

I like the image with two young scouts saluting (not chosen). I also prefer two of the less stylized reverses.

I haven't seen which image was chosen, but I do look forward to the commemorative. They'll make great gifts for those young Eagles in the family and in the neighborhood.

Are they going to make a Scout half eagle?

I thought the HA gold BSA commem was neat.

I read an article complaining about the designs but there was no link to the recommended choices or the rejected ones. I really hope they knock this one out of the park.

Too long ago to remember all the details, but during that year (1960) we had to perform some task and we were then awarded this patch for our uniform. Still have it. My daughters had all my scouting awards/badges framed in a shadow box a couple of years back for fathers day.

Yeah, but then we'd have to read the UHR threads to know what they're about.

I don't know why they chose the flat, stylized clip-art Boy Scout logo rather than, say, a good version with some relief and detail. Wait, yes I do, I just wish they hadn't.

Having finally seen the recommended designs I have to say that I like the reverse but it would certainly look better with some relief to it. I like the theme of the obverse with the older era scout assisting the newer era scout. Unfortunately, the older era scout looks like a hobbit instead of a normal man bending over.

I'm still curious as to what the other choices looked like.
