OK, 5 year anniversary

Just thought to put up a little anniversary post. I liked the original coin forum a lot. One thing I will say about the other forum is that once in a while there are some nice photos of some nice coins over there. This metal forum suits my interests much better. So, 5 years and about 3000 posts I haven't been flamed or called out that I can recall and I even got a POTW here, once, but then I don't flame or call people out either so I guess things are going about right.
I like the quality of posters here, the decorum, the expertise of the various usual suspects ummm, posters. It is great to have a venue/forum to discuss things near and dear to us...namely gold and money but the thing I like the most is discussing planning of the financial kind. I contribute where I have something to offer. The various little bits and streams of information that make their way here, the open discussions, occasional rants, the prognostications, the charts, the tongue in cheek remarks, the wizards that post here...it's all good. One of the more difficult things here is to not post political commentary...it's very difficult because of the madness of our current administration regarding monitary policy and debt and entitlements but we won't go there. I did have to chuckle to myself though when the final supermajority member of our current leadership was filled by a bawdy comic in a disputed election...somehow, it seems so right.
Since I'm a planner by profession and by nature, being prepared for what ever is next is kind of central to what I do so sharing input, info, what ifs, and all the fun things we discuss here is very interesting to me. It's always good to recall the last thing the referee tells the boxers before the starting bell rings..."Protect yourself". I believe that you should pay attention, have a plan, and be prepared. Thank all of you for your discussions, and for your great postings...it's great to share.
