You can buy very nice coins from them, but by the nature of what they carry there is also the possibility of buying some rather nasty stuff. However, they have always been fair in my transactions with them and allow returns.
Interesting that on this particular thread virtually all agree with the sentiment that "quality doesn't come cheap", yet on other threads some if not many of these same folks have complained about how dealers try to hose collectors with high prices. Just an observation.
Edit to ask: stman...did they say they would hold the coin until your dealer buddy had a chance to look at it?
Anyone know anything about this place? Are the raw coins original? Are coins as described? Any issues or complaints with this company?
I havent read any of the other posts, but here's my two cents worth:
1) Awesome customer service. They have always been very friendly with me. 2) Pics are pretty accurate. I wouldnt put a whole lot of stock in their discriptions, though. I wont belinger the point... Their pics will tell the story on individual coins. 3) Prices are a little high but reasonable, but they get collector-desirable stuff and I suspect they pay well for it. 4) I have bought from them in the past and will continue to buy from them in the future. I love their website format and check it nearly daily. I dont buy very often from them any more, but if they get the right coin at a mark-up that I like, it will be mine.
