More stolen coins
![soty27](https://forums.collectors.com/applications/dashboard/design/images/banned.png)
I sold this coin awhile back and the buyer just contacted me stating the coin was stolen. Apparently there were others stolen as well. The buyer resides in north carolina. If you happen to see this coin let me know.

<< <i>ok coins with certs i will say this if i bought a coin let's say with a cert and then i find out it's stolen should i give it up to authoritys or should i say
wanna buy it back from me at what i paid for it or should i just take it out the holder because yes i know i will not get a refund on what i paid for it
any real answers for this question ?
If you buy a stolen coin alert the authorities to the seller and contact the seller demanding a refund. Try to find out who is the real owner of the coin and contact them to turn the coin over.
<< <i>yes that is the right and good person answer but if you know you might not get your money back then what
either way if you contact the owner and say you can buy it back for what i paid for it they will say nothing more then likley and send your email adress and
ip to the police and the police will con it and you will not get your money back that you paid it will be long investigation and i say that any Criminal
that committs a crime should be responsible for everything and any one that has records of any stolen items should be awarded the money they paid period
other wise why should i return your coin when i paid for it and tax payers have to pay for them to seek justice etc you tell me why >>
Soty27 has it right and it is the only way. After all wouldn't you want your property back, especially without someone asking you to buy it from them. This is where you get enough info on the person that you bought the stolen coin from and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Besides that stolen coin can come back on the person that bought the stolen coin. If you know for sure that you will not get your money back then you just accept it and move on, but this is only after exhausting all of your efforts. Besides if you just let it slide the person that is selling the stolen coins will just be encouraged to keep doing so if nothing is done to them. IMHO the goodess of a person will come back to them in the end, good or bad. The simple answer is just put your self in the victims shoes.
As for what is right or not.....my understanding (I have not been in the situation, thankfully), is that stolen property you paid for is not yours.
I keep track of who I buy coins from. Multiple back-ups in a spreadsheet.
So, if I did find out I bought something stolen, I would have record of who/when/where/how much for the coin and would contact them AND the authorities and get my money back that way. If they were the thief, then I would expect the authorities to deal with them. If they were a victim of the thief, I would expect to get MY money back from them and then let them go to whomever they bought it from. If they don't know who it was because their records weren't good enough, that is their issue, imho.
People that don't want to do the right thing because they would "be out" something, need to be on the other end of things and lose something and then hope someone else does the right thing for them.

<< <i>RickynCrystal, Im not trying to tell you what to do, but could you, please, try to use a period or comma now and then? I cant read your posts without, and Im not trying to figure out what you are talking about.
I agree.
Nothing personal RickynCrystal, but your posts are close to unreadable. Most people probably wont bother trying.

<< <i>RickynCrystal - if you have a stolen coin, the trail of possesion needs traced back to original seller (after robbery), who then is or knows the thief. The coins value gets reimbursed at every step of the way. This is how it is done to catch the thief, otherwise if you buy stolen property and don't say anything, you are nothing more than another crook and helping fence stolen property (it does not matter if you are second possessor or tenth since the item was stolen). The police need to be involved to trace item back to thief. Tou talk like you stole 'it' , so it is yours - pull your head out of the sand >>
Sinin, I agree with you but I don't think anything will change this "Rickyncrystal's" mind as they don't seem one to do what is right if there is nothing in it for them/her/him/it.

doing the right thing benefits everyone.
eventually there may come a day when they need others to do the right thing. Perhaps if more people did the right thing their expectations would be different.
that's an easy coin to "spot." any distinguishing characteristics besides the toning?
<< <i>yes it is about that time ZZZZZZ most people wouldnt even bother no i will not use periods or comma's ooops i use ' oh well
RICKYNCRYSTAL ! Please stop posting in this thread. This thread is about specific stolen coin/coins. Your incoherent posts are taking this thread away from its posted use.

Ditto... I'm in NC and will keep an eye out for this toner. You don't see to many toners like this around my area, so it would stick out like a sore thumb!
And good luck on getting your money/coins back.
