PCGS and NGC will not recognize 2009 Lincoln Cent Doubled Die

An article in Coin World says that PCGS discussed whether to attribute the doubled die varieties but as of June 26 the decision they made was to not recognize them.

What do you think?

Was that decision to not recognize the varieties a "we will not currently recognize" or was it a "we will NEVER recognize" ?

I think more time is needed.

Funny stuff will no longer be tolerated. Especially flipping the bird at the TPGs.

Being that there's like, a bajillion different DDO's and DDR's at this point, I can imagine why they wouldn't want to. What a headache to attribute them all.

Even with a bazillion varieties... if the top coin grading companies don't attribute these things, then it just appears to me like they think they have way too much business. I wonder what will happen if they ever have fewer coins being submitted. Would they change their minds?

And, by the way, I've asked for years to get the non-CPG Jefferson varieties attributed with no luck. That's why my money these days mostly buys previously graded varieties from other TPGs. I would love to have them all in PCGS plastic, but as for now, they all reside in other companies plastic. If PCGS attributed these things, those other companies may end up out of business.

I also think a PCGS registry set of all known Jefferson RPMs would be a serious challenge.
