Book Recommendation - Hits, Runs & Errors

I just found my copy of Hits, Runs & Errors by Robert Smith from 1949. I had been looking for it ever since I saw a book thread on here. I didn't mention it because I couldn't remember its name and author, etc.
I've been a big baseball fan all my life but I didn't realize how little I knew about the 19th century part of it until I read this. It was like a whole other world before even John McGraw and Tris Speaker and those guys. Who knew?
If anybody's interested, I checked abebooks and alibris and they have used copies starting at $2.50 and up. The version I've got is a Dell paperback from 1949, number 292.
