Opinions on this 1996 W Roosevelt Dime?

I admit not knowing much about these, other than they were only issued in mint sets. Are these dimes made in a satin or matte type finish, or is something else going on with this one I just picked up?

I know I have owned some of these raw, this is my first slabbed one. I also am showing a picture of a regular issue clad dime taken at the same time under the same conditions as the '96. Thanks for any info or thoughts!

A lot of these were struck on burnished or partially burnished planchets.

It's hard to tell from the picture but if this looks a lot different than others
then it's probablt due to excessive die wear. This appears to be the most
heavily worn die I've seen represented in this date.

Thanks CladKing, I will try to find some of my raw ones and get a comparison picture or two.

Here is the Obverse only larger, FWIW.

I think it just shows die wear. I have a few that look just like your image.

Normal BU finish, with allowances for die wear of course.

I don't think that the Mint had ventured into the satin/burnished finishes yet when these were included in the Unc Sets, so I think you have a regular Unc there.

Something was done to a lot of the planchets after 1985 I believe. Many of the
mint set coins appear to be struck on polished planchets after this date.
