    Sorry, I won't be there...

But I'm glad I'm in Colorado Springs attending the ANA's summer seminer!

Anyone care to post a show report?

Like coinnut, I think I would have rather played golf...the weather was perfect for it...

My expectations for the show were low... with all the rain here lately and it being a holiday weekend, I expected a slow show... like the weather forcasters usually are, I was wrong...

There were a number of regular dealers and collectors alike that did not attend... off enjoying the Holiday with family and such... (or in Colorado Springs)

The show never got any kind of "buzz" going... and the aisles never got jammed like they can... but business was steady and I wasn't able to wrap it up until 2... by then most dealers had left or were just about packed up... so I can't say what kind of business they were doing, whether good or not so good...

Barbers, as many know...are hot in choice Fine to AU, especially in PCGS plastic... can't seem to find enough of it to satisfy collector needs/demands... and even with the major discrepancy between what they are costing in the marketplace compared to the price guides...

...as a "side note", either the guides need to get off their butts and reflect the reality or the prices need to come down...yet, for as many who said "no" to my prices (which are based on what it is costing to buy the material plus 10%)... there were those who "know" and they said "yes"... grey sheet, PCGS coin prices, Numismadia and Coin Values are just not reflecting what these coins are actually selling for...

    Anyway...I digress...

Besides Barbers... folks were looking for nice Type coins for their 7070's... had a Bust 1/2 dime guy clean me out... sold some Morgans... and on the other side of things... had some nice coins brought to me by vest pocket dealers and collectors selling off duplicates that were upgraded...

So for me it was a good day... yet I still wish I could have gotten in a round of golf image

Heck, I didn't even have time to eat until I got home... that is rough for a voracious coin dealer...image

(edited to add --- I am finding that the margins dealers expect need to be lowered... those who are holding out for "all the money" are not doing a brisk business right now... I know I'm not the first to point this out...but over the past few shows I see that it very true...a repeat, friendly and steady stream of clientele is much preferred to a hit and miss one-time-rip business model...and this is true in any market, bear or bull... but especially apparent in the present conditions...)
